The term “Epic Fantasy” has been a topic of much discussion, as each person has their own ideals as to its parameters. I feel that epic fantasy is anything in the fantasy genre that spans a great length of time, with multiple rounded characters, and the elements of the world play a part in the overall story arc. Epic fantasies usually evolve and can be told in as little as a single novel (of textbook length), or they can span over a series of books, movies, episodes, or other stories. A few examples are; Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit, Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, Clash of the Titans, and The Seventh Son. Most also belong among other genres.
